The Royal Yacht Britannia hailed as Scotland’s best visitor attraction by Visit Scotland. It' s offers fun for the whole family. The Britannia is now berthed in Leith in Edinburgh and offers visitors the chance to explore the yacht that has hosted some of the world’s most famous people.
The yacht is open to the public every day, and opening times depend on the season. Pricing is just £17 for adults or £8.75 for children aged 5 to 17, and included in the admission price is an audio guide. This audio handset tour is available in 30 different languages and also offers a children’s version for little ones to get involved.
Throughout the self-guided your you will explore Britannia’s five decks. The tour begins with the bridge, following on to the Royal Apartments, the crew’s quarters and finally the Engine Room.
During a day out on The Royal Yacht Britannia, you can visit the Royal Desk Tea Room, which offers stunning views across the waters. Here you can indulge with delicious homemade scones, sandwiches and soups which are all made onboard the yacht. After a spot to eat, you can search for the perfect souvenir in the Gift Shop in Ocean Terminal, which sells exclusive toys, gifts, food and nautical items.
The Royal Yacht Britannia is located just 15 minutes from Edinburgh City Centre and can be easily reached on the Majestic Tour Bus. Local bus services 11, 22 and 35 also head to the yacht, and free parking is available for those who want to travel by car. The entire of the tour is accessible for wheelchair users and pushchairs, making the perfect day out for all.
