The main attraction is Camera Obscura, a Victorian rooftop chamber that is more than 166 years old. You will be guided through the experience to see Edinburgh in a whole new light. Camera Obscura offers incredible live panoramic views of the city, alongside a fascinating tour of the capital’s rich history.
This attraction offers much more than just Camera Obscura, with an entire trove of illusions, puzzles, tricks and experiences you will never forget. Bewilderworld provides a collection of intriguing illusions that will leave you completely bewildered by their magic. You can explore the mirror maze, test your skills in the vortex tunnel, and discover the world’s very first fluorescent chaotic pendulum.
The Magic Gallery is another area of the World of Illusions which features unbelievable optical illusions, incredible exhibits and interactive experiences. You can attempt to catch your own shadow, walk on water and shake hands with a ghost. Giant kaleidoscopes and plasma domes keep all ages entertained. Next up is the Light Fantastic gallery filled with unique tricks and illusions that are sure to mess with your mind.
Camera Obscura and World Of Illusions offers 360 views of Edinburgh with free high-power telescopes and binoculars to explore beyond the city. Live City View cams give you the chance to explore the whole city in real-time, and you can even go back in time to Edinburgh in the 1850s.
