The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is a unique celebration of military pageantry, music and dance during summer festivals.

Every year, Edinburgh Castle hosts nearly 1,000 drummers, singers, pipers and dancers as they perform some unforgettable experiences. There will be performances from the Massed Military Bands as well as Massed Pipes and Drums. Emerging from the expansive gates of Edinburgh Castle, the bands play inspirational battle tunes from the famed regiments of Scotland.
In addition to these local-loved musicians, international performers will also take to the stage. Every year The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo brings something fresh, unique and unforgettable, with many faithful fans continuing to attend every year. At the end of the evenings, a lone piper will bring a haunting and poignant close to the show with a solo performance from the castle ramparts. This is followed by a beautiful firework display and crowds singing Auld Lang Syne as military jets close the show with a flypast.
This year, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo will take place between 7th to 29th August at Edinburgh Castle. Tickets can be bought online and are required as the event is always a sell-out. 2020 is a particularly special year for the event, as it marks the 70th anniversary of The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. The platinum theme is sure to bring some unforgettable performances to mark the special occasion.
