Horseracing in Edinburgh

Established back in 1816 Musselburgh Racecourse hosts horseracing throughout the year with both flat and jump meetings taking place, the popular Christmas Family Day each December is always a highlight.

Rock climbing in Edinburgh

On the outskirts of Edinburgh is the Ratho Adventure Centre, one of the most impressive and unusual climbing venues in the world. It offers beginners and training routes, a competition wall and free-standing boulders. The sky-ride is an aerial assault course 120 feet above the ground. Also on offer is a mini bungee jump called the `King Swing', a gym, a bar and restaurant.

Skiing in Edinburgh

Europe's longest artificial slope for skiers and boarders in the UK, the ski run offers a fun slope for beginners (with two tows providing the uplift). Whilst the more advanced skiers use the jump fitted in snowflex carpet. The centre is fully floodlit allowing skiing or boarding throughout the winter and till 9pm nightly (7pm Sundays).
